Academic
For consideration for the one-year award with a $2,555 value applied towards tuition that must be split between fall, spring, and summer for up to 30 credit hours, the applicant must: Be a graduating high school senior. Minimum overall high school cumulative GPA of 3.25. Minimum ACT score of 20.
Academic Excellence
This one-year award with a $3,930 value covering full tuition for up to 30 credit hours during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, is designated for the current graduating class Valedictorian and Salutatorian or graduating seniors with an ACT score of 30 or higher from NWSCC service area high schools, as verified by the high school counselors.
Alls Family Memorial Scholarship
Open to a Haleyville High School Graduating Senior with a desire to pursue a nursing degree at NWSCC. Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Ambassador
For consideration for the one-year award with a $3,930 value covering full tuition for up to 30 credit hours during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Open to all students, incoming and returning. Applicants must have a minimum overall high school or NWSCC cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants must answer three questions about why they want to be an Ambassador in the scholarship application and participate in the required interview process.
Applied Technology
For consideration for the one-year award with a $2,555 value applied towards tuition that must be split between fall, spring, and summer for up to 30 credit hours, the applicant must: Be a graduating high school senior. Minimum overall high school cumulative GPA of 2.5. Intend to enroll or be enrolled in an Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Occupational Technology degree at NWSCC.
Ashley Darby Memorial Scholarship
Open to a Brooks High School Graduating Senior with a desire to pursue a science or nursing degree at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Bill Lucas Memorial Scholarship
Open to a Russellville High School Graduating Senior with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Billy Bowling Memorial Scholarship
Open to any Graduating Senior within the NWSCC service area with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Broughton Isom Memorial Scholarship
Open to a Phil Campbell High School Graduating Senior with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Cecil Clapp Memorial Scholarship
Open to any Graduating Senior within the NWSCC service area with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Cliff and Mabel Brown Memorial Scholarship
Open to any Graduating Senior within the NWSCC service area with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
College Bowl
For consideration for the one-year award of the $5,888 to cover tuition and fees for up to 32 credit hours for fall and spring semesters. Open to all students, incoming and returning. Applicants must have a minimum overall high school or NWSCC cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants will be required to participate in the interview process.
Continuing Excellence
For consideration for the one-year award with $2,555 value applied towards tuition that must be split between fall, spring, and summer for up to 30 credit hours, the applicants must: Be a returning student who does not have an AS, AA, AOT, or AAS degree. Minimum NWSCC cumulative GPA of 2.75. Completed and passed a minimum of 30 credit hours at NWSCC.
Denton Memorial Scholarship
Open to a Colbert Heights High School Graduating Senior with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Diana Ashe-Clayton Memorial Scholarship
Open to single parents within the NWSCC service area with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Dorothy England Emergency Management Scholarship
Open to any current or incoming NWSCC EMS student. Award amount varies.
Dual Advancement
For consideration for one-year award with a $2,000 value applied towards tuition that must be split between fall and spring semesters for up to 30 credit hours, the applicant must: Be a graduating high school senior. Minimum NWSCC cumulative GPA of 2.75. A minimum of 15 credit hours passed at NWSCC.
Edward Fennel Mauldin Memorial Scholarship
Open to any Graduating Senior, who is a First Generation College Student, within the NWSCC service area with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount is $2500 per year.
Franklin County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship
Open to a graduating senior from any high school in Franklin County with a desire to pursue a career in education. Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
G&G Steel Scholarship
Open to Franklin County Graduating Senior with a desire to pursue a degree in nursing or engineering.Preference given to children of G&G Steel employees. Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Grisham Memorial Scholarship
Open to a Cherokee High School Graduating Senior with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Joe and Doris Buffaloe Memorial Scholarship
Open to any Graduating Senior, who is a First Generation College Student, within the NWSCC service area with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Josh Green Memorial Scholarship

Shoals Scholar Dollar
For consideration for the one-year last dollar tuition scholarship that must be split between fall, spring, and summer for up to 30 credit hours, the applicant must: Be a graduating high school senior from Lauderdale or Colbert County high schools. Complete 2026-2027 FAFSA application by the assigned scholarship deadline by February 15, 2026. High school seniors must meet the following criteria by successfully completing 9th, 10th, and 11th grade meeting the following: a.) 98% attendance rate in high school. b.) 2.5 (75) high school grade point average. c.) Has never been expelled or has a non-expunged criminal record. d.) U.S. Citizen e.) Stackable with NWSCC Institutional scholarships. Additional scholarship requirements: Pass a drug screening test that will be organized by NWSCC but paid for by the student. Students will be required to take the student success course during the summer before the scholarship award. A scholarship processing fee of $35 will be charged only to students receiving SSD scholarships.
Simms Memorial Scholarship
Open to any Graduating Senior from Lawrence County, Alabama with a desire to further education at NWSCC.Scholarship amount dependent upon fund balance.
Talent Search Ambassador
For consideration for the one-year award with a $3,930 value applied towards tuition that must be split between fall, spring, and summer for up to 30 credit hours. The applicant must be a graduating high school senior. Applicants must have a minimum overall high school cumulative GPA of 2.5. Must have participated in the Phil Campbell, Tuscumbia, or Tennessee Valley project. Applicants must upload a one-page essay explaining the benefits of participating in the Talent Search program and how those benefits will contribute to success in college. Scholarship recipients must serve as the Talent Search Ambassador for the upcoming school year. Serving as an Ambassador means speaking on behalf of Talent Search and attending required events set by Talent Search.
